The primary responsibility of a security officer is to observe and report findings to the proper authorities, employer, or client as instructed by the companyu2019s policies and procedures. In emergency situations, the security officer should be able to evaluate the situation and respond accordingly by notifying proper local authorities such as police, fire, and/or ambulance.

In the event of a critical incident, it is very important to remain calm, speak with a clear voice, notify the proper authorities of the situation, and render assistance to people in an orderly fashion to a safe place away from any hazard.
